Washington Square Reads

LCC’s creative-writing community came together for an evening of connection and celebration on Tuesday, April 20 evening. This online event, celebrating the relaunch of LCC’s own literary journal The Washington Square Review, was an opportunity for everyone who is part of the LCC community to share their creative work by reading live for a virtual audience. Students, faculty, staff, alum, and all LCC community members were welcome to read their poetry, fiction, lyrics, or creative non-fiction.

We plan to have more Washington Square Reads events in the future.  Please join us!

These events generally don’t have a specific theme or topic requirements. All we ask is that readers keep to the maximum time per reader, 10 minutes.

If you are interested in reading at a future Washington Square Reads event, contact Professor Melissa Lucken at wsr@star.lcc.edu . Include your name, title, and type of work (poetry, fiction, etc.).

In the meantime, please listen, watch, and enjoy this recording of our Washington Square Reads event from April 2021:
